Wokingham Explorers prepare for DW

Two Wokingham Explorer Scouts have spent the last 7 months preparing themselves for 125 miles and 77 portages as part of the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race.

The race has been run over Easter weekend for the last 70 years and the race record for the 24h senior crews is still held by a former Wokingham Scouter. The two Explorers will take part in the 4 day stage race starting tomorrow at around 8:30 am and completing in the early hours of Monday morning at Westminster bridge.

Waterside A RaceThe lads will also be taking part with 2 female Explorers from Loddon District and a father and son pairing.

If the lads complete the race they will be the first Explorer Scouts from Wokingham to complete the race and may even walk away with a Scouting based Race trophy
