Announcing Twyford Scout Archery Club (Archery GB Affiliated)
Following on from the hard work over previous years to establish Twyford Scout Group as another legitimate home for scouting archery (outside of Hampshire and Cambridge), I’m pleased to announce that our club, which is imaginatively called the “Twyford Scout Archery Club” (!) is now affiliated with Archery GB, the national governing body.
Although comprising a modest membership of 14 Scouts, 4 Explorers and 8 Leaders, who are ALL connected with Twyford Scout Group, we meet on most Fridays and alternating Saturdays and Sundays, offering a rewarding and enriching experience which is not just about hitting targets but fostering a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion.
This passion feeds back into our activities with our Cubs, Beavers, and the local District Explorer units, and we are especially proud of our programme for encouraging younger sections to come through into the club by empowering our current crop of young people with activity permits to run the sessions thereby providing a role model for our future members to aspire to.
We would like to thank the Berkshire county activities team for providing a platform for our young people to develop their skills and enthusiasm for archery and look forward to the future.
