Do you think they saw us? 1st Woosehill have whale of a time at Dino Snores

Cubs, Scouts, and Leaders from 1st Woosehill in Wokingham were given a raptor-ous welcome at the National History Museum recently, as they embarked on their third Dino Snores sleepover.

A Night at the Museum became a reality for the 22 participants as they discovered all about dinosaurs, archaeology, and invested three new members into their group next to the venue’s impressive blue whale.

Starting their Jurassic trip from Twyford, the excited group were greeted in London’s Paddington Station by the Peruvian bear himself, who was more than willing to have a group photo with fellow adventurers. His emergency marmalade sandwich was kept safely hidden in his hat on this occasion!

After a hike through Hyde Park to the Natural History Museum, in South Kensington, the group quickly found their sleeping spot overlooking the blue whale. As the only uniformed organisation in the museum on the day, there was plenty of opportunity to explore, learn and enjoy the experience.

The museum offered a variety of activities and events with the Cubs and Scouts in their sleeping bags well before midnight. There were no hidden perils or bumps in the night, but the familiar tune of the Jurassic Park movies acted as a unique dawn chorus when they awoke the next morning.

A pre-ordered breakfast, obligatory trip to the museum shop, and a return hike to Paddington ended a terrific experience for the young people and their leaders (no dinosaur jokes, please!).

“Never a dull moment – a roaring success” is how the event was described by 1st Woosehill Hawks Cubs Akela!
